Who I am:
38/M - Played in a band about 6 or so years ago (math-rock/post rock - similar musically to foals but with a melodic/poppy vocal), really enjoyed playing live, but miss jamming and just playing along with a live drummer. My Bass theory is basic/intermediate, not a bass purist, but understand how to play and am happy to take direction from a guitarist in what they want to hear, what sound they want (or learn existing songs to keep an existing band going if they are missing a bassist).
Pretty eclectic music tastes, but love post-rock [65 Days of static, Maybeshewill, Explosions in the sky] and prog/prog metal [Tool, Puscifer]. Would be happy playing pretty much any style.
What I am looking for:
Something casual that could grow into a gigging band / something experimental. Ideally want to find a drummer to jam with and see where that could to.
Happy to join an existing band, and learn/grow their material. Not fussed about being directed to play a specific bassline if one already exists, not looking to re-invent the wheel or create disruption if you already have a sound/flow.
No issue with covers, its a good place to start. I just want to get playing again. |
