| Description: | Bass player with 30 years’ experience looking to join band or amateur orchestra, open to both covers and original music. I do not read music as such but can play all the influences listed below, and have been gigging weekly semi-professionally for the last 6 years. Left band I am working with at the moment due to other members’ spiralling drug use. Can do backing vocals, play also acoustic guitar, currently training as classical tenor. I do also play and like country/Americana, and funk. No rock or blues bands, and happy stuff only please, • Influences: 1930s/40s swing bands and singers; rockabilly, 90’s country and country influenced music (e.g. Junior Brown); also funk/soul/Motown (esp. James Jameson stuff) and Jack Bruce solo albums; salsa music. • Equipment: Harley Benton DB-01 electric double bass, Vintage Icon fretless jazz bass, Takamine D-series acoustic guitar, Orange Bass Crush 25W bass amp (in large gigs I usually play DI) |
