The Meddlers are looking for a dedicated bass player to complement our existing lineup. We play a wide range of covers across a variety of genres, typically blending rock & roll, soul & motown, funk, disco, some classic rock and even a few R&B and pop tunes. We will look to play private functions such as weddings etc but we'll also hit the pub scene as needs be.
You will need excellent musicianship, quality equipment and transport but critically you will need to be committed and available to play regular gigs (approximately once every 2-3 weeks ideally) plus rehearsals as required. Some ability to perform backing vocals would be excellent but not a requirement. We are a bit spread out over West Sussex but we usually rehearse in Worthing as it’s sort of in the middle for all of us.
Whilst we take pride in being professional and sounding as good as possible, we also don’t take life to seriously and we don’t have inflated egos. All decisions are made together and we’re mostly in it to enjoy playing music that we like, have a good time and make a bit of cash on the side. We're currently on a bit of a reboot after some time out of the game so we might need to do some recording and maybe a showreel to kick start things again.
