| Description: | New Originals band (40’s age group-experienced musicians) are looking for a bassist with own kit & transport. Style (think) Pixies, REM, PJ Harvey, Nirvana, White Stripes but not exclusively so. Looking for someone who can jam new music, suggest their own bass ideas to new songs and potentially contribute to writing of songs but only if they want this (no pressure), it’s not necessary. Enjoying playing only is great too! Importantly, we occasionally play acoustic sets as well as electric so we are looking for someone who is happily able to adapt to that environment too (quiet plugged in bass or acoustic bass) as well as the main 5 piece full electric set up. Our drummer plays acoustic cajon in addition to his main kit and we are looking for a versatile open minded musician who loves playing in any guise. If the person wants to offer vocals too, this is a possibility but definitely not essential. We will be looking to play in a fun jam initially in a relaxed, laid back, encouraging and friendly environment no pressure on either side, just to see what happens. Rehearsals once weekly usually (one of) Thurs PM, Fri PM or Sunday afternoons (but flexible). Can meet in rehearsal space in High Lane or Stockport. We are ideally looking for someone based around High Lane, Disley or Whaley Bridge (or easy distance from) Aim to initially play open mics & record and move on from there to full gigging with our original music & some high quality covers (we have around 15 songs written since we formed in 2019 of various genres and styles).
