Hi there
We’re a rock/metal band with prog elements called Onion Mash (our theory is band names don't matter as long as the music and riffs are good!) we're currently in the last of the writing stages and recording of our first EP which we're self funding and aiming to release in April/may. We're currently working with a vocalist though its early days.
We consist of a guitarist with over 10 years gigging/playing/recording/producing experience and a bassist who has been taught by the guitarist and playing about two years, both in our early 30s though your age doesn’t matter as long as 18+. We have 5 Songs written and 3 others in various stages since we formed in September last year (we're finishing up the last song this week) and are looking to gig either through streaming or IRL asap. We're happy to give rehearsing via zoom etc. a go if needs be as modern problems require modern solutions. Both of us have gigable gear.
Songs are between 3-5 mins long roughly. Are around 90-150 BPM and use 4/4 & 3/4 time signatures. There is some double bass work required but it's important to be able to handle dynamics also. Influences: Metallica, Motorhead, Clutch & Maiden though we are NOT playing covers.
As long as you can handle the above on a technical level, positive mental attitude, dedication, communication and a sense of humour are what are really important to us.
We can send demos of the songs as we have recorded bass and rhythm guitar for two songs and have scratch guitar on the other three. We have programmed drums on all tracks and can send with click. Even though the songs are written we will listen to input from a drummer as you might be able to think of something we can't as string players, though there are a few parts we have written specifically.
