| Description: | New Funk ‘n Soul dance/covers/party/pub Band –Drums, Bass, keys and vocals + horns/sax. “Kiss The Shapes” - a new pub/function band in Kent. Think Nile Rogers/Stevie Wonder/Bruno Mars/Amy Winehouse - anything that is a good dance groove. We need Drums (nice light touch feel), funky bass (possibly a bit of slap), keys (piano/Hammond sound + maybe synth horns and strings) and vocals (capable of lead and backing harmonies) + horns/sax. “Kiss The Shapes” is a band for reasonably experienced (middle-aged?) musicians. If you’re younger or older that’s fine – as long as this band is your number one band/music priority - our rehearsals and gigs come first? You enjoy a bit of music work– 3hr rehearsals every few weeks to start with and plenty of preparation at home so you know the songs- then we spend rehearsals getting in the groove, refining the tunes with breakdowns, dynamics, stops and smooth segues. I’m thinking a gig a month’ish – more in the winter/less in the summer… When/where? – If there’s a good response then I hope we have a list of potential band members by the end of October - Finalise names plus meet, chat and select songs/keys in November, learn the material in December with first rehearsal January….
