Eh Up
I am looking for someone in their 20s in the South/Central Leicestershire area to play keys and sing backing vocals in a new mod band with myself (guitarist). We will be open to exploring multiple different genres, mainly alternative rock, ska/reggae, soul and jazz.
My main influences are: The Jam, The Style Council, The Beat, The Specials, Small Faces, Them, The Stone Roses, The Seahorses, Oasis, Noel Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Ocean Colour Scene, The Who, Arctic Monkeys, The Clash, Gil Scott-Heron, Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Taylor Quartet, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Hortense Ellis, Jimi Hendrix, The Brand New Heavies, Howlin’ Wolf.
Musically and aesthetically, I am particularly looking to emulate artists such as The Jam, The Style Council, Small Faces, The Who, Them and various Two-Tone bands such as The Beat and The Specials. Some of the music I have written is politically charged so please bear that in mind.
I would like someone who is able to add solos, backing and lead elements to my existing and future material. There is no pressure to contribute your own songs, but this would be welcome. A Hammond Organ player would be a bonus, but creating a similar sound on keyboards is essential, along with a jazz and rock piano style.
I am not necessarily looking for someone hugely experienced, just someone positive who feels ready to join a band, have a good time and has ambitions to perform and record within the next few months. I myself have been playing guitar for just over 18 months but would like to start gigging soon.
A drummer and saxophonist/trumpeter will be sourced in due course, with possibly a bassist as well.
