| Description: | Snakes Don't Belong In Alaska are currently looking for a new guitarist, as our current axe weilder is moving to the land of OZ after xmas. If you google the band you'll see us described as "face melting psychedelia" however we are not confined to one perticular genre. Crossing the boundries of; Heavy psych, stoner, doom, kosmiche, space rock. SDBIA are predominantly an improv band. All of our live shows (and most of our records) are improv. So you must be 100% comfortable at making off planet guitar noises on the fly. We do have an arsenal of riffs at the ready to base our improv on. We have been in the psych scene for almost a decade and have worked with some of the biggest names in the scene. Currently we are putting out Vinyl releases with essex based record label Up In Her Room. Most recently we have been doing a UK tour once a year, however in the new year we are looking at signing up with a booking agent so we can make the trek across europe and possibly play more festivals. You should be comfortable with exploring your sounds and have access to as many effects as inhumanly possible (extra niche instrument abilities are a plus). preferably looking for someone between 30 and 50, any gender, any walk of life, that being said age is but a number so as long as you are chill and reliable then your age doesn't matter. P.s, There is no money to be made here, as our aim is always to break even, Psych isn't a very well paid genre. So we see it as a hobby that pays for itself for the most part. |
