Hello, my name is Michael (23) and I am a guitarist/songwriter, looking to find some new bandmates in the London or Surrey area, who would be interested in making some cool, spacey, dreamy music. I have a wide music taste, so would love to blend genres to create a unique progressive/psychedelic/alternative rock sound, with some metal, jazz, western/eastern classical, and electronic/trip-hop elements.
Some of my main influences include: Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Riverside, Pineapple Thief, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Bjork, Bowie, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles. I have a bunch of songs floating around (with acoustic/electric guitar parts, vocal melodies, and lyrics), but they need fleshing out with layers, to give a richer texture. It would be great to have creative input from other young musicians in developing, recording, and performing my songs, as well as building new songs together from scratch. Specifically, I am looking for a drummer, bass guitarist, lead guitarist, keyboard/synth player, and violinist!
I am not so much interested in technical ability, as finding like-minded bandmates, who are chill but reliable and focused, with the right friendly dynamics together. For me, the most important thing is for bandmates to be able to empathise with and inspire each other, and to share a clear unified vision and artistic direction, where every member can contribute something unique to the whole sound.
I currently live in Godalming, Surrey, so it takes me about 45 minutes to travel into London. If you're interested in creating something beautiful and surreal, please get in touch with a bit about yourself (your instrument, favourite artists, other hobbies, etc.).
