Hey! We're Lake September, and we're a three-piece alternative rock band based in the north of Greater Manchester.
We're not intentionally three piece though...we are looking for a vocalist to front for us!
We've been playing on and off since 2006, but got together again in the winter of 2014, to give it all another go.
We think we're best described by that generic description of 'alternative rock', but you'd really need to give us a listen to get a better idea, as our sound consists of anything from rawly distorted guitar riffs and pulsating sub-synth basslines, to faux classical piano melodies and skittish synth sequences.
For our current work, we're looking to compose lyrics around political, psychological and social observational themes...but we're open to other interesting topics, if the vibe is right!
We're looking for a vocalist (with added lyricist skills), who can make our songs their own. We are playing our own stuff, but may throw in some covers too.
Essential
- A decent vocal range. Can you belt out a track, whilst delivering subtle tones in another? Our current tracks
- A way with words. We generally collaborate with writing all parts, but we are looking for a strong lyricist!
- Open-minded about the topics we would like to write about, so an interest in current affairs/politics/social issues will be helpful!
- An eclectic taste in rock, especially the heavier end of the spectrum.

- Ability to sing and play an instrument (guitar and vocals would be cool!)
